Problem

Most dating apps optimise purely for swipes. iwillfindyou.love set out to support more deliberate, meaningful connection instead — which meant a frontend built around signals beyond a photo and a bio: shared interests, friendship intent, and likes, alongside the real-time chat users expect as standard.

Approach

iwillfindyou.love is the first product built on Datingular API — our own backend platform for dating and social apps. Rather than building a bespoke backend for a single product, we proved the platform by shipping a real consumer app on it, which meant the API’s chat, matching and fraud-prevention systems were validated against genuine user behaviour rather than synthetic test cases.

Stack

A web frontend for interests matching, friendship signals and likes, backed by Datingular API’s REST endpoints and WebSocket-based real-time chat, with the platform’s automated fraud prevention protecting the product from day one.

Outcome

Version 2 of iwillfindyou.love has now been released. Because the app and its backend platform were built by the same team in step with each other, feedback from real usage fed directly back into Datingular API’s design — the kind of tight platform-and-product loop that’s hard to get when the two are built by separate teams working from a specification instead of shared context.
