Cloud & Infrastructure

Infrastructure is judged on the days it’s tested, not the days it isn’t — a traffic spike, a failed deploy, a region outage. We design for those days from the start: reliable, scalable infrastructure on AWS, GCP or Azure, defined as code so the environment is reproducible and the failure modes are known in advance rather than discovered live.

What we build

Cloud architecture, infrastructure as code with Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines that make deploying boring in the best sense of the word. We’re AWS certified (Solutions Architect – Associate and Developer – Associate), and we design for the cost and reliability trade-offs of the platform you’re actually on, rather than a generic best-practice checklist.

Evidence, not claims

We run Pixicular on a Hetzner-plus-AWS setup — S3, CloudFront and Route 53 — entirely managed through Terraform, so our own production infrastructure is provisioned the same reproducible way we’d set up a client’s. Stonewoods, one of our longest-standing client relationships, runs on one of our earliest AWS implementations: infrastructure that’s been in continuous production use long enough to prove the original architectural decisions held up.

How we work

Everything goes into Terraform rather than being clicked together in a console, because the second time you need to rebuild an environment — after an incident, for a new region, for a staging copy — is not the time to discover it was never written down. CI/CD pipelines are built around the deployment risk that actually matters for the project: a content platform can tolerate a different rollout process than a payment system.

What you get

Infrastructure you can hand to another team without a week of archaeology: version-controlled, documented, and built to be rebuilt from scratch if it ever has to be. If something is already running and just needs to be more reliable or cost less, we’re glad to review and improve an existing setup rather than starting over.
